Johann Parschalk
Johann Parschalk, was born 1778 in Lengmoos am Ritten, attended the Franciscan Grammar School in Bozen and later studied theology in Innsbruck. In 1810 he was ordained as a priest. From 1822 he was a priest in Lengmoos where he was also active as a local historian. Parschalk became famous through his library in which he invested the yield from three inherited farms. The book collector died in 1857 in Lengmoos. The collection consists of over 13,000 volumes. In 1962 the “Parschalk Library” landed in the Johanneum in Dorf Tirol. Since 2000 it has been located in the Vinzintinum in Brixen.
